What is Zingerang Connect ? General Questions Sending Zingerang Messages Receiving Zingerang Messages Zingerang Connect is a new mobile messaging service that enables anyone to send out interactive messages to mobile people and get responses in real-time.  It is integrated into Microsoft Outlook and takes advantages of your Outlook Address book to send Zingerang Messages. What is a Zingerang Message ? A Zingerang Message is an interactive message with a series of screens that are bundled together and delivered to a mobile user’s devices.  Each screen requests a response, and the responses are returned to the sender in real-time.  The Zingerang Message tracks down users by roaming from device to device until a Zingerang Message is acknowledged. Is the service secure ? Yes this service is secure.  We send the Zingerang Messages over a secure encrypted channel.  You can also require the recipient to use a PIN when opening up a Zingerang Message. Is the service dependable ? Yes, this service is dependable.  Zingerang Connect has implemented a redundant service architecture to ensure delivery of the Zingerang Messages. How much does this service cost ? What are the Software Requirements ? To send Zingerang Messages, Windows XP and Microsoft Outlook 2003 with SP1 is required. To receive Zingerang Messages, view the list of supported devices. During the beta trial, there is not cost for the service.  However, you may incur charges for SMS messages; check your local mobile network service plan. Can I save a Zingerang Message that I have created and then resend it ? Yes, you can save a Zingerang Message that you have created and resend it.  One of the best ways to use Zingerang Connect is for the collection of repetitive data.  You can save the Zingerang Message and label it.  Once saved, you can add it to your favorites and a button will appear in the console for easy access. What is my Contacts List ? Your Contact List is a list of the recipients who have agreed to receive your Zingerang Messages.  You can invite additional recipients at any time, but they will not receive Zingerang Messages until they register for the service and authorize you to include them. I have downloaded Zingerang Connect and do not see the Zingerang Connect icon in my Outlook toolbar. What should I do ? Close Outlook and reopen the application. You should now see the Zingerang Icon in your Outlook toolbar. If you still cannot see it, please go to the support page and submit a support request. What happens when I receive a Zingerang Message ? Depending upon the priority level of the Zingerang Messages as defined by the sender, you will get an audible and visual alert on your personal devices.   You will be able to open the Zingerang Message and respond, one screen at a time.   There will also be a menu that will allow you to return to previously viewed screens.  When you have responded to all the screens, the Zingerang Message will return the responses that you have entered. Can I see the Zingerang Message after it has left my device ? Can I change my responses by resending the Zingerang Message from my “history" ? What happens when the Zingerang Message is delivered as a voice call to my cell phone ? When the Zingerang Message is delivered to your cell phone, you will get an audio version of the Zingerang Message.  The sender may have chosen to truncate the text, so it may not have all the content of a Zingerang Message you receive on your other devices.   You will be able to acknowledge receipt of the Zingerang Message but will not have access to any of the other screens that may have been sent in the Zingerang Message. What happens when the Zingerang Message is delivered as a text message to my cell phone ? When the Zingerang Message is delivered to your cell phone as a text message, the message will be truncated because of the limitations of the SMS message format.   You will not able to acknowledge the Zingerang Message, and will not have access to any of the other screens that may have been sent in the Zingerang Message. What is a “smart” device ? A ‘smart’ device includes PCs, smartphones, Blackberry’s, and PDA’s.   These technologies have the ability to present multiple data formats including images, word files, mp3 files, maps, etc.   They also have an input device (keyboard, keypad, touch screen, etc.) that allows you to respond to structured elements.   Zingerang Connect takes advantage of these capabilities to let you respond to Zingerang Messages. How do I identify my devices ? During the set up process, you will identify your personal devices and choose the order in which these devices will receive Zingerang Messages.   You can manage your devices at any time by logging on to the Zingerang Connect Account Management site. What if I do not own any smart devices ? You will need at least a PC to register for the service.   Once you are registered, Zingerang Messages can be sent to a voice phone or text message device.  However, a smart device is the best way to take advantage of Zingerang Connect’s capabilities. Will I get “spammed” if I subscribe to this service ? You will not get spammed if you subscribe to this service. Each recipient needs to authorize their inclusion in a sender’s network. What do I need to do to send Zingerang Messages ? In order to send Zingerang Messages, you will need a Zingerang license and have downloaded Zingerang Connect.  To register for Zingerang Connect, go to the Zingerang ConnectAccount Management site. No, because this is a real-time service, you cannot go back and change your responses. Yes, you have access to all Zingerang Messages that you have acknowledged in your “History”.   On your PC, you can find the Zingerang Message history by clicking on the “Z” in the tray area and then selecting “history”.  For other smart devices, select the Zingerang Connect icon and look for “history” in the appli How do I create a Zingerang Message ? It is easy to create a Zingerang Message.  Just click on Zingerang Connect in your Outlook menu.  A drop down menu will allow you to select “New Zingerang Message.”  A new Zingerang Message template will appear in a window.
